From Courtly hype to battlefield impact: Making AI work in the real world

Room 9Wed 13 May • 09:45–10:45Architecture & LeadershipIntermediate
AI is the number one tool corporations are eager to invest in to remain competitive and relevant. However, many organizations lack the necessary foundations such as data readiness, architecture, and operating models to leverage AI effectively in support of their strategic objectives - innovation without strategy is like shooting in the dark). AI initiatives cannot follow the same path from business validation to implementation as traditional technical solutions. This is because AI introduces a unique set of variables and considerations, including data quality, business value assessment, implementation complexity, regulatory constraints, and change management. Many organizations do not know how to address these factors, which often results in failed, and frequently costly, proofs of concept that never progress to production. I would suggest covering topics such as: How to bring large, traditional organizations up to speed with Data & AI; from ideation to implementation within a solid, compliant, and well-governed environment AI is just one of many tools: how to determine whether it is the right tool and how to ensure value-creating solutions How to align stakeholders and cross-functional teams (especially in highly structured corporations) How to present successful solutions to senior management and secure a “go” decision.
