Beyond the Text Box: Rethinking Your Product's AI Surface Area

Room 4Wed 13 May • 13:15–14:15AI & AgentsIntroductory and overview
AI integrations used to mean bolting a chatbot onto your product. Now the question is flipping: what parts of your product should live inside the AI? MCP Apps lets you bring interactive pieces of your application directly into conversations across Claude, ChatGPT, VS Code, and more. But just because you can surface something in a chat doesn't mean you should. This session is about building the right intuition. We'll look at how teams are deciding what belongs inside a conversation vs. what stays standalone, how to think about your product's "AI surface area," and the design tradeoffs that come with embedding real UI into someone else's runtime. If you're a product engineer or team lead figuring out where AI integrations fit into your roadmap, this one's for you.
